Educators- HELP US PROMOTE CBYX IN YOUR SCHOOL

Youth For Understanding USA (YFU USA) is proud to administer the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) program in your state, which provides deserving high school students with a full scholarship to study in Germany for the academic year. The CBYX program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. 50 students will have the opportunity to study abroad with YFU USA and YFU Germany via this prestigious scholarship for the 2019-2020 school year! Deadline to apply is December 18, 2018.

What is CBYX?

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is for motivated high school students who want to live with a host family and attend school for an academic year in Germany. No previous language experience is required. Students who have previously participated in a semester or year exchange in another country are not eligible for the Germany programs and scholarships.

This incredible scholarship opportunity provides:

  • Round trip domestic and international airfare

  • Placement with a carefully selected host family

  • Orientations

  • German language instruction

  • 24-hour support for students and families while on program

  • Medical insurance coverage

  • A monthly stipend for eligible CBYX students to help offset some everyday living expenses.

International students studying at your school bring other cultures directly into your classroom and community. They help you and those around you learn about other people, places and perspectives. When you welcome a YFU exchange student into your school, your students will gain an international perspective that could never be found in a textbook.
