Scholarship Amount

This is a full scholarship.

Scholarship Covers:

Eligibility

  • Up to three full scholarships for children of employees of Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Parent must be employed full-time with Mitsubishi for at least one year prior to application deadline. Parent must also be employed full time with Mitsubishi at the time students are notified of award.

  • Only U.S. citizens or students with permanent U.S. residency may apply.

  • Previous recipients are not eligible.

  • Students who are interested in Japanese culture, language, and people.

Scholarship Recipients are Responsible for

  • Passport, visa fees (if necessary), and any excess luggage tariffs

  • Personal spending money

  • Upon returning home, scholarship winners are expected to complete at least one presentation in their school or community to share their experiences, teach others about the culture in their host country, and encourage other students to participate in foreign exchange.

  • Within one month of returning home, the student must provide an essay and photos detailing their exchange experience to their scholarship sponsor. At least one photo must be with the host family.
