2020 Short-Term Hosting Oportunities:

Washington, DC

Roanoke, VA

Discover the many benefits of hosting with short-term exchange. YFU Students from Germany are eager to learn more about the culture and traditions of not only the United States, but also your family. This program is a scholarship-funded, community service-based, learning opportunity for under-privileged German youth. Get ready to experience our American traditions as you never have before; through the eyes of a curious international student!

The program works to ensure that our international students get a well-rounded taste of the American experience. During the weekdays, students receive English language instruction, participate in visits to cultural and community sites, and participate in community service activities chaperoned by YFU staff. Evenings and weekends are dedicated to spending time with you; their YFU host family. Participants are excited to increase their English proficiency, make friends, and contribute to American family life. View a sample itinerary here.

Short-term program participants have a basic level of English language understanding and keen interest in learning about U.S. culture. Families who open their homes to these students provide accommodations, meals, access to public transportation and supportive parenting for a most meaningful short-term intercultural experience!

Contact the program coordinator at EMAIL? or PHONE? with questions about short-term hosting!
